# CrowdStrike’s Partner Program from the Partner’s Side: Elevate, CPSP, Falcons, and Why Individual Certifications Carry the Weight

CrowdStrike is one of the vendors where a reseller’s standing is hardest to read from the outside. The program is deliberately selective: trade press has long described CrowdStrike as limiting channel recruitment and investing in partners who invest in it. For a firm that already has a CrowdStrike relationship, the useful question is not how to join. It is what the program actually asks you to keep doing.

The tier names and program details in this post come from CrowdStrike’s own published releases and program pages, several of which date from different years. CrowdStrike updates its program, so confirm every item against the current partner portal before relying on it.

> **Program naming:** This post uses the tier names from CrowdStrike’s earlier Elevate announcement. A 2025 CrowdStrike press release describes an expanded “Accelerate” partner program, so names and tiers may have changed. Confirm the current structure in the CrowdStrike partner portal.

## Three layers, three different questions

| **Layer** | **Who it is for** | **What it asks of the partner** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Elevate** | Resellers. A unified tiered-benefits program that CrowdStrike introduced to give resellers a framework for accelerating sales. | Tier classifications published as Associate, Resell Focus, Resell Elite, and Partner Security Service. |
| **CrowdStrike Powered Service Provider (CPSP)** | Service providers: global SIs, MDR vendors, MSPs, MSSPs, and telcos. | Services underpinned by the Falcon platform. Includes a discount for specialized bundles and add-on modules, and an Elite tier. |
| **Falcons** | Individual technical professionals at partners: systems engineers, technical consultants, and solution architects. | Employment at an active authorized partner, basic channel certification, the ability to present and demonstrate the solution, and upkeep of technical and sales requirements. |

*Sources: CrowdStrike press releases and partner program pages. Tier names may have changed since publication.*

## The contract matters as much as the tier

CrowdStrike’s Partner Program Agreement is explicit about who decides. Acceptance into the program and the partner type designation are at CrowdStrike’s sole discretion. The agreement also says CrowdStrike may require completion of minimum training or certification programs, including fees for certain testing, and that a partner who does not agree to participate and pay may not obtain certain certifications or be elevated.

Read that as a partner and the implication is plain. Certification is a gate to elevation, it has a direct cost, and the vendor controls the criteria. That is not unusual among security vendors, but it changes what “certification tracking” means. You are not only keeping a credential current. You are keeping a condition of your agreement satisfied.

## The Falcons detail that is easy to miss

The Falcons program recognizes individual people, and it comes with benefits that include recognition by CrowdStrike field sales, one-to-one mentoring by a CrowdStrike sales engineer, and access to technical resources. But the eligibility language says a Falcon must be employed by an active CrowdStrike partner for as long as they participate.

That sentence ties a personal credential to an employer relationship. If one of your Falcons leaves, the status and the benefits it carried do not stay with your firm. If you hire someone who holds Falcons status elsewhere, confirm with CrowdStrike how it carries over before you count on it. Either way, it belongs on the list of things you track by person.

## Same goal, four different units of account

A security reseller carrying CrowdStrike is almost always carrying other vendors too. The reason this gets hard is that each vendor measures standing in a different unit.

| **Vendor** | **What the program counts** | **What you have to track** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CrowdStrike | Program tier and partner type, channel certification, individual Falcons status, agreement terms. | Tier, partner type, named Falcons, certification by person and expiry, agreement dates. |
| Palo Alto Networks | Level on one or more paths, specialization and technical depth, annual assessment. | Level per path, specializations, certifications, assessment date. |
| Fortinet | Engagement level plus NSE certification counts and exam-based levels by tier. | NSE certifications by level, per person, plus business model. |
| Microsoft Security | Solutions Partner designation with a Partner Capability Score threshold. | Score components, certification and skilling currency, renewal dates. |

*Summarized from each vendor’s published program materials. See the related posts on Palo Alto NextWave, Fortinet Engage, and Microsoft Solutions Partner designations.*

No portal shows you that table. CrowdStrike’s portal knows CrowdStrike. Palo Alto’s knows Palo Alto. The comparison, and the question of which engineer is carrying which vendor’s requirements, exists only if you build it yourself.

## What to track for CrowdStrike

- Your current Elevate tier or CPSP status, and the date it was last confirmed.
- Every person with a CrowdStrike certification or Falcons status, with expiry or review dates.
- The date and version of the Partner Program Agreement you accepted.
- Which engineers also carry certifications for other security vendors, so you can see where one person’s departure would hit several programs at once.
- Any training or certification fees the agreement requires, so the cost of staying elevated is visible to whoever sets the budget.

> **A useful test:** Pick your three most important security engineers and write down every vendor requirement that depends on them. If you cannot do that in ten minutes, the exposure is invisible to you right now.

## Why security vendors are the hardest to track

Security partners tend to hold more programs than other partners. A single customer environment can involve endpoint, identity, network, email, and cloud security products from different vendors, each with its own partner program. The same small group of engineers usually holds the credentials for all of them.

That concentration is the real risk. If two engineers carry most of your security certifications, every vendor in the stack is exposed to the same resignation, the same long leave, or the same busy quarter that delays an exam.

| **Risk** | **How it shows up** | **What to track** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Concentration | Two or three people hold most credentials. | Credentials per person, across vendors |
| Stacked renewals | Many expiries fall in the same quarter. | Expiry dates by month, all vendors |
| Requirement drift | The vendor changes what a level needs. | Date you last read each requirement |
| Registration lapse | A protected deal expires without extension. | Expiry dates on open registrations |

## Questions for the CrowdStrike relationship owner

- What does our current standing require, and when is it next assessed?
- Which of those requirements depend on named individuals?
- Which deals are registered, and when does each registration expire?
- What has changed in the program in the last 12 months, and did we learn of it in time?

If the relationship owner cannot answer these without opening a portal, that is the signal that the partner-side record needs work.

## Using the partner record in a customer conversation

A current partner record helps with customers as well as vendors. Security buyers ask about your credentials, your vendor relationships, and who will work on their account. If you can answer from a single record, rather than by asking around, the conversation moves faster and signals maturity.

It also helps with your own staffing. When a customer wants named engineers with specific credentials, a record that links people to certifications tells you immediately whether you can staff the work, and who else could step in.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is CrowdStrike’s program the same for resellers and MSSPs?

Vendors often run different paths for different partner types. Confirm which path applies to your business model and read its specific requirements.

### What should a security reseller track for this program?

Certifications and who holds them, any revenue or pipeline thresholds, deal registration status, and agreement renewal dates, in the same place as your other security vendors.

### How do I avoid a surprise at renewal?

Put assestment dates on a shared calendar with a 90-day warning, and review the requirement margin for each person-dependent item.

> **AltamIQ:** AltamIQ maps vendor requirements to the people who satisfy them, across every vendor in your portfolio. When a Falcon, a certified engineer, or a program manager changes roles, you see which programs it touches. It is built for the reseller or MSSP holding the relationships, not for the vendor running the program.
